  • HOW CAN I VISIT ANDAMAN ?

    There are two ways to visit Andaman Islands.

    By Airways: There are direct flights from Chennai and Kolkata to Port Blair airport. One can get connecting flight to Port Blair from any major airports in India.

    Waterways: Ships from Chennai, Kolkata are available once in a week and from Vishakapatnam its available Once in a fortnight. Ship Journey Takes approximately 58 Hrs. These are normal passenger ships. No luxury facilities available like a cruise

  • HOW TO REACH HAVELOCK ISLAND ?

    Everyday Directorate of Shipping Services operates regular Ferries to Havelock Island from Port Blair. The journey takes 2 Hours. The first ferry from Port Blair sails at 06.30 Am and last ferry sails at 02.00 Pm

    There are few other Private Luxury Boats (Makruzz, Coastal Cruise and Ekspress Bhagia) are available to reach Havelock Islands. These boats are luxurious, fast And little higher in price compared to Govt Ferry.

  • WHAT IS THE PEAK SEASON TO VISIT ANDAMAN ISLANDS ?

    October to May is the best season to visit Andaman Island. December to March is being the peak season. With the high inflow of tourists. Unexpected rains can occur anytime in Andaman Island
  • WHAT IS RESTRICTED AREA PERMIT ? IS IT NECESSARY FOR ALL THE VISITORS ?

    Restricted Area Permit is a permit given to Non Indian Nationals for visiting certain protected areas in India. Andaman,being one of the Restricted Areas in India, Foreigners needs to get a RAP to visit these islands.Foreign nationals can get RAP at Port Blair Airport on arrival
  • WHAT IS THE GENERAL CUISINE IN ANDAMAN ?

    Andaman,being an island, the main cuisine is sea food. Fish Crabs,lobsters, Prawns are found at almost all reputed restaurants. However, in spite of abundant availability, seafood is not cheap. For good fish one needs to be prepared to spend money. This doesn’t mean that the rates are sky high, but can’t be called cheap either. One can find basic Indian food everywhere. Most of the reputed restaurants also offer Continental, Chinese Cuisines etc, but you might get Indian touch in them

    Port Blair has quite a number of ATM’s all over the City of All major Banks but Havelock are only 2 ATMs. It is always suggested to Carry Cash with you when traveling to other Islands away from the Port Blair
  • HOW IS THE CLIMATE CONDITIONS IN ANDAMAN ?

    Andaman islands always have a warm weather, with gentle sea-breeze all through the year. These isles have a tropical climate and are humid. The temperature of Andaman Islands ranges between 21’C Minimum and 35’C Maximum. There are no extreme climatic conditions in Andaman except in rains and tropical storms. The relative humidity is about 70%-90%.
  • WHAT TYPE OF DRESS CODE FOR ANDAMAN ?

    Casual t-shirts and shorts are accepted by all tourist resorts. However, smart casuals are more preferred and appropriate for most resorts. Carry flip flops and a towel while going on any excursions. Andaman faces mosquito menace at dusk which gradually reduces. So, it is preferred to wear something light with long

  • MOBILE NETWORK AND INTERNET SERVICE IN ANDAMAN ?

    BSNL, Airtel,and Vodafone networks are available here. In outer Islands like Havelock and Neil Island mostly local prefer BSNL as its govt operated and have vast Network in these Islands. Internet is available in Andaman Islands but as these Islands are geographically away from mainland. Internet connectivity has limitations.
  • WHAT TO BUY IN ANDAMAN ?

    There are many Shell crafts, Handicrafts etc shops are available all over the Island. There one can get all decorative Shell crafts, Shell Jewelery, Pearls, Decorative, Wooden Items, Bamboo Items hand and much more crafted by locals.
  • IS THERE A THREAT OF SAND FLIES IN ANDAMAN ?

    Unfortunately, some of the Andaman beaches have sand flies. It is advisable to keep a good insect repellent as a part of your beach bag.
  • IS ALCOHOL AVAILABLE IN ANDAMAN ?

    There are many Licensed Bars and Wine Shops are available in Andaman. They mostly sell Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL)
  • NIGHTLIFE IN ANDAMAN ?

    The nights are usually calm and silent as people get to bed early and wake up early. However,Christmas and New Year times are an exception in tourist islands like Havelock Island and Neil Island where you will find a number of parties with loud music and dancing.

  • WHAT ACTIONS DO I TAKE IN CASE OF MEDICAL EMERGENCY ?

    There are Primary Health Center (PHC) at most of the islands. However, the services here are limited. For immediate help, go to the nearest PHC. Then move the patient to the G.B. Pant Hospital in Port Blair which is the biggest and have better medical facilities
  • IS THERE ANY THREAT OF DANGEROUS ANIMALS IN ANDAMAN ?

    There is no such existence of predatory animals in Andaman forests. So, don’t come here expecting to see a Lion or Tiger. The forests are a home to animals like Wild Boar, Spotted Dear, Civet Cat and various species of birds, butterflies sand reptiles. Snakes of both types, i.e., venomous and harmless are found here.The mangrove creeks are inhabited by salties or salt water crocodiles. Tourists are advised to read the sign boards before entering any beach.
